🏄️ Pharrell Williams Wave-Making Project & Local Happenings

Welcome to Neptune’s Weekly - Your Guide to Virginia Beach’s News and Weekend Events
🌊 The Coastal Update
Pharrell Makes Waves with $565M Virginia Beach Surf Park
Hometown hero Pharrell Williams is diving into yet another venture, and this one's making a serious splash in Virginia Beach. The multi-hyphenate star is taking on the role of wave pool developer for the massive Atlantic Surf Park project, a cool $565 million investment that's transforming the old Virginia Beach Dome site.
Remember when Pharrell was just that guy making catchy beats? Now he's designing for Louis Vuitton, starring in Lego movies, and apparently, creating artificial waves. Talk about career evolution!
The 2.6-acre Wavegarden surf lagoon sits at the heart of the ambitious Atlantic Park entertainment district. It's a smart nod to local heritage - Virginia Beach proudly claims to be the birthplace of East Coast surfing. Having their famous son involved just adds the perfect hometown connection.

The project isn't just about catching waves. The year-round district packs in a live entertainment venue, office space, housing, and unique shopping and dining options, all with that authentic Virginia Beach vibe.
Wavegarden, already making waves with surf parks across five continents including Australia's URBNSURF in Sydney and Melbourne, plans to open this latest venture in early Summer 2025. For local surfers tired of waiting for the perfect Atlantic swell, those consistent manufactured waves can't come soon enough.
